WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN LOOKING FOR A FRIDGE VAN

There are many makes and models of fridge van currently available in the market, each different in terms of features available, payload capabilities and temperature requirements.

When starting to consider the purchase of a fridge van there are a few decisions to be made which will make the search easier and provide you with a clear vision of your temperature controlled requirements.

Fridge Van Make and Model

It is important to understand the best commercial van make and model that will best suit your requirements. Each van come with its own standard features, some better than others. Understanding what you defiantly want your van to have will determine which make and model to consider. Of course you can always check the additional features possible but this would increase the cost of the van.

Fridge Van Payload

Know what you will be transporting with your fridge van the overall weight that will be carried at any one time. This must also include allowance for driver or passenger’s weight including your load. Each make and model of commercial van will have its own payload allowance so again this will help in creating a shortlist for consideration.

Temperature Required

Once you know what you will be carrying you can then determine your temperature requirements. Will you need a chiller van specification at 0 to 8 C or a freezer van specification at -18 C. This will be required when pricing up your fridge van making sure the correct refrigeration unit is fitted in the vehicle.

Is Standby Required

Standby is a very common additional feature fridge van users decide to opt for when purchasing their vehicle, allowing them to still have power when the van is parked up.
