This year a CoolKit Fridge Van took centre stage in the promotion of Lancashire Day by providing refrigerated transport of chilled local produce from Lancashire to London.
Lancashire Day is celebrated annually in November where local businesses promote their produce throughout the area, trying to reach customers beyond Lancashire and spreading the invite to visitors from all over the UK to come and take in our beautiful rural landscapes, great food, iconic sites and excellent accommodations.
This year the Marketing Lancashire team set a new goal to take Lancashire to London by inviting 40 of the top UK food critics to enjoy a state-of-the-art lunch created by Lancashire chefs with local produce in the country’s capital. The chefs taking part all required their fresh produce to be safely transported down to London during the night, ready for an early morning start on Thursday 17th November where the chefs would be ready to unload the ingredients and start cooking a fantastic lunch bouquet.
The CoolKit team set off collecting the produce from 5 leading Lancashire restaurants on Wednesday 16th November, making sure that at each stop we understood what we were carrying and that it was all safely packed and stored within our CoolKit Fridge Van. Throughout the collection day, CoolKit made the most of the #LancashireDay trend on Twitter to spread the awareness of the project and create excitement for the event.
The CoolKit Fridge Van utilised was equipped with overnight standby, allowing the drivers to keep all ingredients at the correct chilled temperature throughout the night and set-off down to London bright and early Thursday morning, arriving at the destination on time with all the ingredients ready to be used by the chefs to prepare a fantastic feast.
