CoolKit proved to be a vital ingredient in the Taste Lancashire event by agreeing to be one of the corporate sponsors.
The event, hosted by Marketing Lancashire at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, aimed to challenge, inspire and celebrate Lancashire’s food economy, bringing together retailers, buyers, chefs, hoteliers, entrepreneurs and exporters in a hot pot of ideas.
CoolKit, the UK’s leading refrigerated van conversion specialist, were one of the companies to financially back the event – which aimed to highlight the tasty county, the big cheeses in the food industry and cook up a storm about Lancashire. Other supporting partners included BOOST Lancashire, Holmes Mill Clitheroe and the Department for International Trade.
Travel guru Alastair Sawday, food writer and broadcaster Jay Rayner, John Farrand, chief executive of Guild of Fine Foods & Great Taste Awards and Nigel Haworth, chef patron at Northcote and Ribble Valley Inns, were among the speakers of the inaugural Taste Lancashire event – bringing together food entrepreneurs, retail bosses, agricultural leaders, international trade experts and influencers.
On the day, guest speakers and food and drink experts from the UK and the world shared insights and expertise to help further develop Lancashire’s food and drink sector.
The day focused on topics such as building a successful food & drink county, getting your product shelf ready, exporting Lancashire to the world and looking to the future and looking at what is next for Lancashire food and drink.
David Grimshaw, CoolKit’s commercial manager, was interviewed by BBC Radio Lancashire about CoolKit’s growth story and the company’s involvement in supporting the local businesses and the wider community.
Loredana Emmerson, Marketing Manager at the refrigeration specialist, said: “We are delighted to support this event which celebrates the Lancashire food and drink industry, promoting the highest quality, locally sourced produce and the people behind them.
“We have a large number of clients in the food and drink industry and we know how much pride they take in their products and how important it is for them to ensure that their products arrive at their destination as fresh as when they left.
“Events like Taste Lancashire help to highlight just how much Lancashire has to offer.”
