Innovation is our lifeblood here at CoolKit, and we’re constantly updating our range of fridge and freezer vehicles with the very latest models from globally acclaimed manufacturers. One of the most recent models to join our stock is the Peugeot Partner S. It’s already been named as International Van of the Year, distinguishing itself from the competition with several major innovations. Amongst its key advantages is that its payload area is even more practical and versatile than ever, and the number of impressive standard features are already making it a popular option amongst our customers here at CoolKit!
One of the first aspects to note about the Peugeot Partner is that there are a range of trim levels to choose from. These include the entry-level Partner S, the Partner Grip, the Partner Professional, and the Partner Asphalt. At the time of writing, the Peugeot Partner S our main in-stock offering here at CoolKit, but we may have further models join our range in future! They all share the same broad characteristics, but there are some crucial differences that can make them particularly useful to certain industries.
The Partner S is the base model of the Partner; a great all-rounder that’s geared primarily towards fleet operations. It comes equipped with DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Peugeot Connect SOS and assistance, automatic headlights, a sliding nearside door, and a useful hill start assist. The base price is around £15,825 for a medium wheelbase, whereas a long wheelbase version is more in the region of £17,800.
The Partner Grip is aimed at those working in the construction industry, and augments the Partner S’s base design with the Peugeot Grip Control system, a switchable traction control to maintain grip on various terrain. The ride height has been raised by 30mm, and there are also Mud and Snow tyres available for even greater traction.
The Partner Professional, meanwhile, gains the benefit of rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a touchscreen for the DAB radio, in addition to all the Partner S features.
A further modified version of the partner Professional, the Partner Asphalt is designed with body-coloured bumpers, alloy wheels, a satellite navigation system, and rear and nearside cameras. While the Asphalt gets these features by default, they can also be specified for the lower spec models from an extensive options list.
While the Partner S is the entry-level Peugeot Partner van, and the Grip, Professional and Asphalt versions all have a three-seat cab layout. The Multi-Flex seats can flip to create more storage, and a parking brake is also added. They’re also able to accommodate even longer items through the addition of a thorough load facility for the bulkhead.
All models include the i-Cockpit as standard, creating the optimum ergonomic layout. Drivers will likely notice improved handling through the use of a compact, double-D style steering wheel that provides improved grip and manoeuvrability. Meanwhile, the 8-inch touchscreen has been carefully placed in line with the driver’s vision, as part of an innovative Heads Up Display to relay essential information without disrupting their concentration on the road. This HUD also puts key comfort functions at the driver’s fingertips, including the phone, radio navigation, and vehicle settings.
This is one of the features that has won the Peugeot Partner such a prestigious status as the International Van of the Year 2019, giving drivers maximum flexibility to benefit from its generous load capacity and payload. When the driver turns on the ignition, an on-board system automatically measures the mass. (There’s also a specific control situated in the load area which drivers can use to manually measure the load when stationary.)
Once the van reaches the 90% capacity mark, it automatically switches on a white light on the control button. If the maximum load is then exceeded, it turns to yellow, with an accompanying visual warning on the dashboard. With the design and installation of the system, Peugeot engineers have aimed to reduce the risk of tyre bursts, loss of control, fuel efficiency and overall durability, helping to safeguard the safety of the van.
Another key feature of the Peugeot Partner, the surround rear view vision is provided by two cameras, one at the base of the passenger side mirror, and one atop the rear panel doors. This gives the driver access to an unrestricted view of the passenger side, eliminating blind spots, while the rear view enables greater flexibility and peace of mind in navigating enclosed spaces such as warehouse floors, congested industrial sites or narrow urban environments.
And of course, whichever version you choose, you can take advantage of all the Peugeot Partner’s impressive on-board technology while also enjoying the benefits of our flawless fridge van conversions. We pride ourselves on using our specialist engineering skills to create market-leading designs that offer our customers the ultimate in refrigerated vans and new freezer vehicles.
