Meat Suppliers Grows Thanks To Reliable Fridge Vans

‘We have no reason to go with anyone else’ – the message from Andrew Burton, MD of Castle Hill Meats, when talking about CoolKit.

The company, based in the market town of Saffron Waldon are a thriving business supplying meat to schools, restaurants, hotels and pubs in the East Anglia area. In 2009, they started dealing with CoolKit and have seen their business, and relationship with the company, blossom.

The family-run business, trading as Burton’s Catering Butchers, has a retail shop in the centre of town and a factory unit supplying high quality beef, pork, lamb, chicken, venison and cooked meats, sourced from local farms.

“I am kept up-to-date with new models and offers and get phone calls and emails asking if I’m ready for a new vehicle. CoolKit always offer very competitive finance, spread over three years so that we then own the vehicle outright. We have a good relationship - I trust and respect them. They deliver on time and do what they say they’re going to do ”
Andrew Burton, Castle Hill Meats

Andrew said: “We had previously bought second hand vans. We’d heard about CoolKit through adverts and seen them exhibit at shows so when we were looking to purchase a new vehicle we went to them. We were looking for a refrigerated Renault Trafic – it was the right size for us.” Andrew and his team ran through their requirements with the team at CoolKit and were given a range of options to suit the needs of the business.

Andrew said: “We hit it off immediately and we have been buying new vehicles off them ever since. I am kept up-to-date with new models and offers and get phone calls and emails asking if I’m ready for a new vehicle. CoolKit always offer very competitive finance, spread over three years so that we then own the vehicle outright. We have a good relationship – I trust and respect them. They deliver on time and do what they say they’re going to do.”

Burton’s, which was recently awarded the Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) award, have so far purchased 10 refrigerated Renault Trafic’s off CoolKit.

“All of them are the same to maintain the corporate image,” said Andrew. CoolKit know exactly what we want, but they also let us know about more fuel efficient models and upgrades. The number of people who say ‘we saw one of your vans’ is unbelievable. Having reliable vans has allowed us to widen our delivery service and the company continues to grow. We have doubled our turnover since 2009 and plan to continue growing organically. The quality of the meats we supply is great, and so is the service. We need reliable vans in place to meet the demands of our customers. The butchers start at 2am and the vans are loaded at 5am each day. The vast majority of deliveries are made before 11am and each van will have 20-30 stops a day.

“CoolKit look after my best interests and give me choice. We have an excellent relationship. I have no reason to go with anyone else.”
