Everything you need to know
What is the MMO Fisheries and Seafood Scheme?
The MMO Fisheries and Seafood Scheme is a UK government grant designed to support the seafood sector, including funding for equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure that improve sustainability and efficiency.
Can I use the grant to fund a refrigerated van?
Yes, in many cases the grant can be used to part-fund refrigerated vehicles, including conversions, if they support your fishing or seafood business operations.
What types of refrigerated vans are eligible?
Eligible options include temperature-controlled vans used for transporting fresh or frozen seafood. Under this scheme, only electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles are eligible.
CoolKit supplies a range of electric and hybrid refrigerated van conversions designed to meet these requirements and support your grant application.
What temperature ranges can your vans achieve?
Our refrigerated vans can be configured for chilled or frozen transport, typically ranging from +5°C down to -18°C depending on your requirements.
Can you help with the grant application process?
While we do not submit applications on your behalf, we provide standardised specifications, pricing and quotes within our brochure to support your application.
The brochure outlines the available electric and hybrid refrigerated vehicle options. Once you have identified a suitable option, please contact our sales team at [email protected].
To proceed, a supplier-to-applicant email trail is required for your application. Please confirm the refrigerated van option you are interested in, and a member of the team will provide a formal quote based on the standard brochure options.
If you need guidance in selecting the most suitable vehicle, our team is available to assist.
How long does a refrigerated van conversion take?
For electric vehicles, lead times are typically around 6 months, as vans are built to order and sourced directly from the manufacturer.
Once the base vehicle is available, the refrigeration conversion itself is usually completed within a few weeks, subject to factory scheduling and availability.
What van models do you convert?
We work with a wide range of electric and hybrid vehicles, including the Ford E-Transit Custom, Ford E-Transit, Ford E-Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid, Renault E-Tech Master, Renault E-Tech Trafic, Kia PV5, Maxus eDeliver 3 and Maxus eDeliver 7.
Is servicing and maintenance available?
Yes, we offer nationwide servicing and maintenance support to keep your refrigeration system running efficiently. For customers choosing the pbx ecos M24 fridge unit, no routine maintenance is required, helping to reduce ongoing running costs and downtime.
How do I get a quote for a grant-funded van?
Simply download our brochure, which includes standard vehicle options, specifications, pricing and quotes suitable for grant submission.
Once you have identified the van option you are interested in, please contact [email protected] to create the required supplier-to-applicant email trail. A member of our team will then issue a formal quote based on the selected standard option.
