CoolKit, a UK leader in temperature-controlled light commercial vehicle conversions, has partnered with MAN Truck & Bus Preston to meet the refrigeration requirements of John Jackson Bacon, a North West wholesaler with over a century of history in offering premium bacon, gammon and other meat products.

The company provides the majority of its customer base with at least two deliveries per week, with some opting for daily deliveries. All goods are shipped in the company’s own refrigerated vehicles.

Faced with growing demand, John Jackson Bacon was looking for a reliable addition to its refrigerated van fleet, with competitive pricing, and turned to MAN Truck & Bus, as the team had two other MAN vehicles and praised both the performance and minimal servicing needs.

Due to the strict regulation regarding food delivery, MAN Truck & Bus needed a partner who could convert the vehicle to ensure the precise temperature control that would maintain the safety and quality of the produce in transit. Enter CoolKit.

Together, CoolKit and MAN delivered a new high-quality, temperature-controlled van in record time, ensuring John Jackson Bacon could continue its reliable delivery service to independent retailers across the region.

CoolKit was able to provide a one-month turnaround on the conversion of a MAN TGE Panel van L2 H2, with work taking place mid-December to mid-January.
